Application Requirements

Applicant is required to demonstrate the capability to financially support himself/herself in Malaysia without seeking employment or government assistance.

FD Amount in Malaysia Bank =RM 1 million Withdrawal Criteria: Applicants could withdraw 50% of the FD amount for purchase of Malaysia property, education, and medical treatment. An additional of RM50,000 of FD amount should be deposited into applicant’s FD account for each additional dependent.
Longest Visa Period 5 years, can be extended once it comes mature.
Reside Period Each Year 90 days and above
Visa Charges RM 500
Application Charges Main Applicant: RM 5,000 Dependents: RM 2,500 (each dependent)
Health Insurance Required

Additional Requirement

  • For MM2H participant who use monthly rental as primary source of offshore-income, subject to the period of the rental contract.

    Note: For renewal purpose, the participant is required to submit the new rental contract.

  • The MM2H participants are NOT ALLOWED to participate in activities that are sensitive to the culture of local people, involve in politics, missionary work or any activities that are provocative in nature that could be a threat to the national security. The definition of “sensitive to the culture”, “provocative in nature” and “national security” is subjected to the definition as determined by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
  • In the event of the demise of the Principal, the dependents are obliged to inform the MM2H Unit, Visa Pas & Permit Division, Immigration Department of Malaysia within three (3) months from the date of his death. Failure to do so may result in the expiry of the visa in which the MM2H Unit, Visa Pas & Permit Division, Immigration Department of Malaysia will not provide any approval letter for the purpose of withdrawal of the deposit from the Principal’s Fixed Deposit.

Security Vetting

Applicant must submit Letter of Good Conduct (LOGC) issued by the Police Department or Security Agencies from country of origin or domicile country. If there is any convicted offences stated on the LOGC, application will automatically be rejected. Also, applicant is subject to security vetting by the Malaysian Authorities.

Medical Report and Insurance Coverage

Upon approval, participant and dependent(s) are required to perform medical check-up at any private hospital or registered clinic in Malaysia. If the participant is currently staying outside Malaysia, participant can make any appointment with private hospital or registered clinic for the medical check-up. If the Medical Report show that either the participant or dependent(s) have any communicable disease, the approval will be revoked. The medical form will be provided by Malaysia Immigration. In addition, participant must obtain medical insurance from any insurance company that covers themselves while in Malaysia. However, exemptions may be given if the participants have difficulty in obtaining the medical insurance due to age or medical condition.

Immigration Related Fee

For endorsement of the MM2H Social Visit Pass, participant is required to pay the Immigration related fees which includes Social Visit Pass, Multiple Entry Visa and Journey Performed Visa (if required). The total amount will be stated on the Conditional Approval Letter.

Security and Personal Bond

Participant is required to pay the Security Bond if he/she applies directly. The rate varies by nationality and ranges from RM200.00 to RM2000.00. If the participant decides to exit from the Programme, he/she may claim for a refund on the security the bond (terms and conditions applied). On the other hand, participant does NOT have to pay for the Security Bond if participant apply via the MM2H Licensed Agents. The agent will provide the Personal Bond for the participant once the application is approved.
